If you are looking to benefit from the wealth of experience that a mentor can bring to your business, then a Meet a Mentor event may well be the place to start.

Get Mentoring, a government funded project run by SFEDI (Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative), has been holding Meet a Mentor events across the UK to help connect businesses with volunteer mentors.

Having trained as a Mentor through the Get Mentoring scheme last year, The Business Greenhouse’s Director, Lynda Wookey, joined the Bristol Meet a Mentor event recently with a view to finding a mentee and working with them to help their business grow.

Lynda said, “It was great to see such a wide range of businesses represented at the Bristol event – there were people just starting up right through to those who have been running their businesses for a number of years.  However, while their business needs and development plans may be different, everyone seemed to agree that having someone to listen, support, challenge and act as a sounding board could really benefit their business.  Even as a Mentor, I can see what it could mean to my business’s growth to have my own Mentor – now that’s an idea!

“No matter what stage you’re at in your business, or at what level you operate, I would definitely recommend seeking out a Mentor who can support you and your business.”
