Revealing a gem in Bradley Stoke

Our marketing work with Bradley Stoke Physio & Health has revealed them as a gem in a competitive market.     Freeing Directors to run their business Louise and Kath, Clinic Directors at Bradley Stoke Physio (as it was then), called The Business Greenhouse in to provide them with regular strategic marketing input and support in implementing their marketing activity. The Business Greenhouse’s role is to facilitate the implementation of the marketing strategy developed. This is reviewed monthly with Bradley Stoke Physio & Health. We organise the delivery of the marketing work freeing time for the Directors of Bradley Stoke Physio & Health to run their business and see their patients.   As such we write the content for their website, leaflets, adverts and other marketing material, got them up and running on social media and support their use of Twitter, Facebook and Google+. We design and write the content for their e-newsletters, and help with managing their lists and groups to help them engage with their target audience. Inputs of a graphic designer and web developer, liaise with local publications, source and organise any printing are co-ordinated. Plus our eyes are always peeled for opportunities to further develop their business. Significantly, TGB Director Lynda is always at the end of the phone or email outside of our regular meetings to help with exploring marketing and business ideas and putting plans into action to make them happen.       No one knew how good they were At the beginning of our work together Bradley Stoke Physio & Health’s wealth of expertise and patient care lay behind the door of their clinic. Louise, Kath and their team were full of vitality and warmth. The feedback they received from their patients clearly demonstrated their ability to make people feel better. The therapies they offered included more than physiotherapy. It was just that no one knew how good they were!       There were added pressures, too, in that the market had tightened, and competition for patients increased. Louise and Kath also wanted to increase their visibility and connect with their target audience.   The transition of Bradley Stoke Physio & Health The clinic has, in the time they’ve worked with The Business Greenhouse, evolved considerably. Some of their achievements include: They are now ‘Bradley Stoke Physio & Health’ to better reflect their offer of a range of therapies and treatments They have a ‘mission’, which focuses their clinic’s direction. It also makes it easier to make decisions about how to develop the business They have clearly identified (and communicate) why existing and prospective patients should come to Bradley Stoke Physio & Health for treatment. They use this understanding to promote and engage people in their services     Their marketing communications use language that connects with, and is relevant to the goals of, their target audience – important when their therapies involve a lot of medical terminology Their website now fully outlines the therapies available, the courses they run, and...

Taking Hammet Street Consultants to the next level

Hammet Street Consultants used coaching from The Business Greenhouse to smash their target of increasing their revenue by 20%. Vanessa Davies of Hammet Street Consultants came to us determined and ambitious for her business. We quickly realised that working in a coaching relationship would pay her the greatest dividend. Vanessa grabbed the bull by the horns. She used the confidence and insight into her business gained from our coaching sessions to take on new ways of working and challenges that saw her increase the resilience and sustainability of her business. We’ll let Vanessa tell you more about what she achieved in her own words: “The objectives of the [former] GrowthAccelerator service is to help businesses to achieve controlled, accelerated growth through the provision of, amongst other things, tailored coaching programmes. The coach I chose for my business, Hammet Street Consultants Ltd, was Lynda Wookey from The Business Greenhouse. “Lynda and I began sessions at a time when my business was needing to expand. Although HSC Ltd was successful in terms of the amount of work being carried out and the range of our contracts serviced, I was interested in taking the business ‘to the next level’. My aim on paper was to increase the business income by 20%. Until now the business has grown mostly through organic growth rather than actively building it. “I found Lynda’s way of communicating and manner very easy to work with. The exploration of my business values, branding, costings, my strengths and weaknesses was particularly useful but also the way she dealt with me sensitively whilst at the same time being gently pushed and challenged, via agreed goals between sessions into achieving. The Business Model Canvas was exceptionally instrumental in my planning of the continued and future success of my business – I still use it today. The work together enabled me to develop my business from me taking responsibility for most things – administration, meetings, supervision, and training – to distributing work to my team allowing the business to grow. “The level of monitoring and the tracking of progress was good and enabled me to continue this way of working even after the sessions ended. To be more aware of how I am as a businesswoman, how I make the relationships with my customers, and how I managed to make HSC Ltd successful was something I had not explored before. “On a final note, I achieved my aim of increasing my business income by 20% – in fact it has increased by over 50% in the last year. However, it is the skills and learning from the sessions that I value the most as they will be with me for the many years ahead.” Are you determined and ambitious enough to take on coaching from The Business Greenhouse? Boosting South Gloucestershire business

Boosting South Gloucestershire business

From November 2012 until October 2014, The Business Greenhouse delivered marketing and business development focused workshops to South Gloucestershire business owners. Our contribution delivered against part of South Gloucestershire Council‘s business support strategy. We targeted existing businesses, and welcomed ambitious fledgling business owners. The aim was to deliver interactive and energetic sessions that not only imparted key knowledge and principles, but to give people time to work on their business while they were with us. The latest workshop was called ‘Essential business marketing’. It focused on unpicking real-life business marketing to discover key marketing tools and techniques and what they could really achieve for the businesses in attendance. Our South Gloucestershire business owners delved into Twitter and Facebook campaigns, looking how the right messages in the right place at the right time really helped businesses gain exposure to their target audience.     We looked at how social media could be used to facilitate the building of communities of loyal customers. We discovered why businesses choose particular marketing campaign themes, the hooks they use, and what gets their customers talking about them and buying their products and services. We explored the competitive world of business and thoughtful and planned marketing can take advantage of the opportunities presented by the current economic climate, events or moves that your competitors themselves make. We worked out what a website needs to do in order to engage its visitors and generate enquiries.   http://www.thebusinessgreenhouse.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Funny-BMW-vs-AUDI-car-advertising-WAR-1.mp4   Significantly, the workshop helped convey the understanding that a business’ target clients or customers are the driver to successful marketing.  Understanding them is key to making decisions about what marketing activity and which marketing tools and platforms to use. Participants found it’s fruitful to show through your marketing messages how your services or your products help your clients address the challenges they face, provide essential items that your customer need and want, or give them the joy they seek.  Knowing where your clients and customers ‘hang out’ (both virtually and physically) means you can actually get your marketing messages in front of them, whether it’s on Twitter or SnapChat, waiting for the bus, or grabbing a bite to eat. More importantly, we got the participants to hone in on their businesses and generate ideas and plans for what of this knowledge they could utilise. Our South Gloucestershire business owners not only came away with a better grasp of what Twitter could do for them, or whether it’s worth being on Facebook, but also knew more about how to spot profitable opportunities to promote their businesses. The feedback from the participants included: ‘Very beneficial session – have come away with my mind buzzing with ideas’ – Sarah P ‘I came away thinking about how to meet my clients needs and the diversity of available marketing channels’ – Emma F ‘A really thought provoking and engaging marketing seminar’ – Mohammed A   Ready to boost your business? ‘Essential business marketing’ is just one of the training and workshop options we run. Regen SW’s marketing strategy day

We devised and delivered an energetic and insightful marketing workshop for Regen SW that would help their members to win more business. We were thrilled to be commissioned by the independent and not-for-profit Regen SW to design and deliver this workshop. Our central task was to help energy efficiency businesses working in the retrofit market to get a better return on their investment and efforts put in to marketing their businesses. Hosted at the beautiful and inspiring Folly Farm, in Pensford near Bristol, the room was filled with a diverse range of people from architects to tradespeople. They were Regen SW members who had travelled from around the south-west of England to take part in our bespoke marketing workshop. The aim of our day-long event was not only to share key principles of marketing their businesses effectively, but also for the delegates to come away with a profitable marketing strategy for their business. We achieved this through mixing: the challenge of reviewing and defining their existing and profitable target audience(s) unpicking real-life case studies of the marketing efforts of businesses working in the energy efficiency market facilitating group sessions where they were able to share best practice and learn from the experience of others imparting essential knowledge about key marketing tools and skills Each delegate took back to their business an actionable marketing strategy that captured: the objectives they had defined for their business’ marketing strategy who their primary target audience is and where to find them the marketing messages they needed to use in order to engage their target audience which marketing tools were likely to give them the best return on their investment how to utilise favoured marketing tools how to plan and schedule the implementation of their marketing strategy It was an interactive day of learning, discussion and planning. Following the workshop, we received a personal letter from Merlin Hyman, Chief Executive of Regen SW which read: ” Thank you for your valuable contribution in speaking at the Making a Profit from Marketing: Ready for Retrofit marketing workshop…Your valuable years of knowledge made for a very upbeat and inspiring presentation…We felt that the day was a great success and we enjoyed hearing so much positive feedback from delegates. Without a doubt, attendees found this session really valuable offering them a chance to learn from an expert and to network with fellow industry insiders.” Could your business benefit from taking part in a similar workshop?   Register your...

Bristol by Pixel

Owner of Bristol by Pixel, Rupert Marlow, came to us with a plan.  Rupert wanted to do more of what he loved – taking photos and working with his amazing clients. The thing was, as the number of projects he was working on expanded, the more time he was spending making sure he was doing what he was supposed to be doing: scheduling projects, attending meetings, sending invoices, processing orders, booking new work and more. In one easy meeting, The Business Greenhouse helped Rupert develop a useful and practical system that makes him much more efficient and effective as a business owner. Rupert said, “Lynda helped me greatly on a specific task of building a system for keeping track of clients and my work load – being a ‘Creative’, procedures and systems are not my strong suit but with some guidance and explanation, I now have a working system and I am saving plenty of time as a result. Her approach was patient, honest and effective which led to a fast understanding and implementation was a breeze! “I would happily recommend Lynda and The Business...
